My work is an exploration to find the beauty from which we come. Right out of school I was offered a job in a pre-industrial restoration shop.  It was eye opening to say the least.  To see the quality and understand the demonstrated material knowledge in those designs was very inspiring.

I have seen many pieces of furniture that were 200 years old and still look great coming out of the shop ready for 100 more. Seeing this led me to think about sustainability through quality and what life would be like if we surrounded ourselves with beautiful items that last.  What if we all understood the roots; good quality construction and how to maintain and repair our cherished items.  It could be an area of commonality that connects us with our surrounding, our past and our future. A  real thing of beauty.
